Da Nang expects to attract more Indonesian tourists
A delegation from the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (ASTINDO) is visiting the Central city of Da Nang from January 8-12, aiming to scope out the local tourism market.
The municipal Department of Tourism said on January 11 that within the trip, the 35-member delegation participated in a seminar held by the department, which sought solutions to lure Indonesian tourists and discussed the launch of flights between Indonesia and the city.

According to ASTINDO Chairwoman Pauline Suharno, up to 90% of domestic and international flights in Indonesia have been restored after the COVID-19 pandemic, adding Muslim tourists from the country are not too demanding for Halal food.
Last year, Da Nang welcomed more than 26,000 Indonesians, accounting for about 25% of total Indonesian tourists to Vietnam.
Notably, the city has opened Halal restaurants, and set up prayer rooms at the Da Nang International Airport in service of Muslim tourists.
The department said the city will work to attract more Indonesian visitors with new products and services next year.
Da Nang captured the second place after Bangkok China town in Conde Nast Traveller (CN Traveler)’s list of the 11 best places to visit in Asia in 2024.
The magazine described Da Nang, a modern beach city located amid two of Vietnam's UNESCO-recognized heritage sites in the central region - the ancient port city of Hoi An and the former imperial city of Hue - as “one of Asia’s big post-COVID success stories", with 2023 international arrivals exceeding pre-pandemic figures.
