Tran Quy Binh, a former officer of Regiment 122, Division 313, Military Region 2, and comrades, visit the old battlefield.

Many of these visitors are former soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and individuals or organizations who come to Vi Xuyen to pay their respect to those who sacrificed their lives in the fight to defend the Northern border, to see the old battlefields and learn about legendary places.

Vu Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of the Ha Giang Tourism Promotion Center, stated that the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism promptly advised the provincial People's Committee to develop a specific resolution, which identifies spiritual and memory tourism as a strength and a new direction for the province's tourism. The provincial People's Committee has directed the Ha Giang provincial Tourism Association to create tourism products related to the old battlefields and develop spiritual memory tours for approval. These tourism activities should be closely linked to paying tribute to martyrs, education of traditions, and promoting the image of Ha Giang's land and people, she said.

During the peak days of July, there were more than 300 tourist groups visiting Vi Xuyen National War Cemetery and starting their journeys to explore Ha Giang per day.

Visiting Vi Xuyen battlefield

According to Lai Quoc Tinh, Chairman of the Ha Giang provincial Tourism Association, in the first seven months of the year, Ha Giang welcomed over 1.5 million tourists, among whom 90% visited Vi Xuyen National War Cemetery to pay their respect and 30% expressed interest in learning about Vi Xuyen battlefield, with many of these tourists being foreigners.

Spiritual tourism, visiting old battlefields, also known as Vi Xuyen memory tourism, is indeed the right direction for Ha Giang's tourism industry, contributing to education of traditions and instilling the love for the country among generations.
