Implementing the “One million national flags for fishermen” program, and components, namely “National flags in border areas” and “National flags on roads,” up to now, the Laborer Newspaper has presented nearly 800,000 national flags to local people in 22 coastal provinces and cities, and border provinces across the country.

Before the handover ceremony, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, former permanent Deputy Prime Minister, leaders of Ha Giang province, delegates from the Laborer Newspaper, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the provincial Border Guard Command and local authorities attended the flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu Flag Tower.

On the occasion, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh and Mr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Laborer Newspaper, handed over 10,000 national flags and 500 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to ethnic minority people in Ha Giang.

Meanwhile, they offered 100 gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, to poor households in border areas, and gave 100 scholarships, valued at VND 1 million each, to disadvantaged students.

Also, they provided VND 20 million to support three adopted children of Lung Cu Border Post under the Ha Giang provincial Border Guard Command.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Son, President of the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee, expressed thanks to the organizing panel for their support to officers, soldiers and residents in the province. He underlined that the gifts were a source of spiritual encouragement for them to overcome their difficulties and complete all assigned missions.
