The Association's President, poet Huu Thinh stated that Vietnamese writers of generations have always been loyal to the socialist Fatherland and upheld responsibility of the citizens to fulfill the missions of artists over the past 60 years. They have committed themselves to the struggle for national independence and freedom as well as to the country construction cause.

“It can be said that Vietnamese revolutionary writers of generations have always accompanied the nation in any circumstances. They have used their pens to serve as a “Special Corps” in the ideological, cultural, literature and art front. In wartime, many writers went with soldiers from battlefield to battlefield, experienced sacrifices and hardships and wrote their works in tears and blood. Their immortal works have considerably contributed to the final victory of the nation.

In peacetime, Vietnamese writers again join national efforts to develop the country while actively contributing to the national construction and resolutely combating social evils, criticizing bad habits, and encouraging people to build a new life.

All writers are soldiers in this front.” He also hoped that VWA, its members as well as all cultural, literature and art workers in the country will continuously bring into full play the 60-year glorious tradition of the Vietnamese revolutionary culture, art and literature; strengthen solidarity from the Central level to local; further promote their creativity and innovation to compose excellent works so as to develop the Vietnamese revolutionary art and literature, contributing to the country construction and defense of the socialist Fatherland.
