However, in recent years, thanks to the three national target programs on poverty reduction, building of new-style rural areas, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited areas, the living standards of people have been improved significantly. Concrete roads, public projects, and sustainable livelihood models have been born, opening up a better future.

According to Giang Mi Di, secretary of Ma Tia village Party cell, Ma Tia is a border village located in the north of Dong Van townlet, with a total natural area of 48 hectares. The village has 89 households, all belong to H’mong ethnic minority group. Most locals rely on corn cultivation for survival. However, thanks to support policies and infrastructure, especially in transportation, the quality of life of local people has been enhanced significantly.
Implementing the three national target programs, in the past year, 50 households in the village received 50 breeding cows. To date, the supported cows have given birth to eight calves. Over the past three years, 35 households have escaped poverty, including 13 in 2024 alone. The village now has 450 livestock, an increase of 65 compared to 2022, including nearly 265 buffaloes and cows.
Apart from raising cows and pigs, many households have also raised carp, snails, mint honey bees, breeding pigs, and pigs for meat, earning hundreds of millions of VND each year.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has marked a significant step forward. In 2024, five new houses were built in the village, contributing to improving people’s living conditions. These changes have created motivation for people to strive for a better life as well as enhance their trust in the State’s policies.
