Given the characteristics of preschool education, kindergarten teachers not only teach, but are also responsible for nurturing, caring for, and raising children. This is a job that requires perseverance and ingenuity and is often undertaken by female teachers. However, in Po Ngan hamlet, Khau Vai commune, Hoang Dai Nghia, the only male kindergarten teacher here, day by day wholeheartedly takes care of children.

Teacher Nghia and his students at the kindergarten |
Nghia was born in Na Ri district, Bac Kan province. In 2010, after graduating from a teacher training college, he came to Meo Vac district, where he oversees classes in rural localities. His students are from ethnic minority groups.
The teacher shared that in order to improve education quality, he consistently learned by himself, especially local people’s own language and customs, and then presented bilingual lessons to his students. His creative teaching method helps students easily absorb knowledge. They also develop a close bond with him.
Ms. Ly Thi En in Po Ngan hamlet shared that she was impressed by Nghia’s friendliness and love and compassion for children. Hence, local parents feel secure when they send their children to the kindergarten.
Meanwhile, Head of the kindergarten Pham Thi Loan highly valued Nghia’s professionalism and enthusiasm for his job. He goes door to door to encourage parents to let their children go to school and to motivate students not to drop out of school. She affirmed that Nghia always completes all assigned missions.
Thanks to Nghia’s efforts, children of H'mong and Dao ethnic minority groups in Meo Vac district are inspired to enjoy learning and going to school. In turn, students’ gradual growth becomes a motivation for the dedicated teacher to further stick to teaching children in the far-flung area with the hope of bringing them a better life in the future.
