This milestone underscores the quality of Vietnam's medical education during ongoing international integration. It also creates new opportunities for Vietnamese medical students to pursue international study, research, and professional development.
According to Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Vice President of Hong Bang International University, ECFMG recognition is not only a testament to the university's educational quality but also provides a gateway for students to access residency programs, postgraduate education, clinical training, research opportunities, and international collaborations in countries with advanced healthcare systems.
She noted that the recognition serves not only as a benchmark of professional competence, but also as an important pathway for Vietnamese medical graduates to become part of the global medical community. It enables HIU graduates to confidently pursue competitive residency positions in the U.S.
In addition, students will have broader access to international licensing examinations, clinical placements, postgraduate training, research programs, and academic collaborations not only in the U.S., but also in other countries with world-leading healthcare systems.
