At the event, 183 excellent teachers, representing nearly 1.4 million teachers nationwide received certificates of merit and “Teacher of the Year 2019” tokens awarded by the Minister of Education and Training.
This first-ever teacher-of-the-year-honoring ceremony was seen as the educational sector’s gratitude to teachers and demonstrated the sector’s confidence in them. Teachers are expected to continue heightening their responsibility in completing their assignments while also promoting their status, role and image in society.
Meanwhile, the Hanoi Youth Union Organization and Young Pioneer Council held a get-together in Ba Vi district to express gratitude to teachers who have made great contributions to the Youth Union, young pioneer activities, and other children’s movements in the capital city. The meeting also honored 16 young outstanding teachers of Hanoi in 2019.
Earlier on November 16, the Hanoi Youth Union Organization and Young Pioneer Council offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his Temple and planted 500 trees at the K9-Da Chong Relic Site in Ba Vi district.
Also on November 17, more than 80 former cadres and instructors and nearly 300 former students studying the Russian language abroad gathered at Hanoi University (the former Hanoi University of Foreign Language) to recall the unforgettable memories of their time studying. That was among a number of activities taking place at the university to mark the university’s 60th founding anniversary. It also celebrated the 47th founding anniversary of the Department of Students Studying Russian Language Abroad.
