The container lab can be easily transported to different areas. |
These are the first COVID-19 testing mobile container labs to be deployed in Vietnam. The products, funded by VPBank, were developed by a research team at the VYPA and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology at a cost of more than 10 billion VND each.
The mobile container lab was designed following the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) and meets all regulations of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.
In addition, it is also equipped with a negative pressure system to keep viruses away, a biological safety cabinet to keep viruses from infecting testers, a Hepa filter to prevent viruses from spreading, a wastewater treatment system, a mobile power supply system, laboratory tables and chairs, anti-vibration racks, autoclaves, medical refrigerators, and a closed sampling system.
The container lab has certain advantages as it is easy to transport and can be used in any areas across the country such as in industrial parks and border areas. It also reduces the risks of disease infection and overcrowding at hospitals.
Therefore, the container labs for COVID-19 testing help save time and meet the testing standards of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.
Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the VYPA has quickly completed five container labs.
In the coming time, the association will continue implementing other effective models for COVID-19 prevention and control such as vaccine transport and mobile vaccination vehicles.
According to the producer, each mobile container lab can test up to 3,600 single samples and 36,000 pooled samples per day.
