In detail, the VRC Central Committee and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 are co-holding an SMS campaign titled “Standing side by side with needy women in border areas.”
The campaign, running from February 28 to April 28, 2022, aims to call on people across the country, especially organizations, individuals at home and abroad, to donate funds in support of poor women in border areas, contributing to raising the public’s awareness of national border and sovereignty.

Supporters can take part in the campaign by texting “BC” to 1406. Each successfully-sent message is equal to a donation of VND 20,000 to the fund.
Apart from sending text messages, individuals and organizations also send donations to the bank account of the VRC Central Committee, which is 120 1 00000 36656 at the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) or directly send in-kind donations, including plants, fertilizers, breeding cattle, and others to poor women’s families.
In the framework of the campaign, the organizing panel will conduct various activities to help needy women in border areas, including providing them with breeding cattle, giving financial support for production, organizing training sessions to instruct them how to take care of plants and animals.
Additionally, the VRC launched the “Nutrition for Children” project, with the participation of organizations, enterprises, individuals at home and abroad.
The project aims to provide much-needed nutritious meals for children, contributing to improving nutrition for children, especially those in border areas via setting up a network of Food Banks, Social Kitchens, ATMs for medicines in areas with a high rate of stunted and undernourished children and particularly difficult socio-economic conditions nationwide.
The organizers will focus on combining different activities, such as giving food and nutritious meals for poor children, providing nutrition examinations and counseling for them, offering medical equipment, promoting information dissemination on disease prevention and control, and building a healthy living and learning environment, contributing to further creating better chances for children’s growth.
The project will run in five years, from March 2022.
As planned, the organizing panel will provide much-needed nutritious food to 1 million disadvantaged children, establish and maintain 20 Thien Nhan social kitchens, 20 Food Banks to offer free food for needy children while equipping 100,000 families with knowledge and skills about looking after their children at home.
