Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology established
PANO – The Ministry of Science and Technology officially opened the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (V-KIST) on November 21 in Hanoi.
Present at the event were Deputy-Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) He Lee Hyuk, and Chairman of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Lee Byung Gwon.

Delivering a speech, Deputy-PM Dam spoke highly of the determination of the Vietnamese Government to establish the institute in order to further bring science and technologies to life. He asked the institute’s staff to overcome current difficulties to contribute to the development of the country and to the bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Minister Anh thanked the RoK relevant agencies for their support for the establishment of the Institute and pledged to create favorable conditions for its full operation.
For their parts, Ambassador He Lee Hyuk and KIST Chairman Lee Byung Gwon underlined that the V-KIST, built with a non-refundable financial package from the RoK, will lead national science and technology, and play an important role in economic development.
At the launching ceremony, V-KIST signed cooperation agreements and papers with RoK and Vietnamese organizations and companies.
