Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Vu held that the forum provided a great opportunity for the regional countries to discuss urgent issues in medical cooperation, contributing to fulfilling the dual targets of recovering the economy and controlling the pandemic.

He also spoke highly of the roles and contribution of China in supporting other countries, including Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control. On the occasion, Deputy Minister Vu thanked China’s Zhuang Autonomous Region for giving a batch of 800,000 vaccine doses and numerous medical supplies to Vietnam.

The International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum held since 2019 is one of the important activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Attending this year’s forum were former Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress of China Han Qide, leader of Guangxi government, more than 200 delegates from international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and ASEAN, and leaders of the ministries of foreign affairs and ministries of health from countries such as Cambodia, Laos, India, and Russia.
