Veteran journalist’s valuable advice for PAN’s personnel
PANO - Reporters must strictly perform pure journalism ethics and develop firm stance and always seek to produce high quality press works for readers and for the interests of the nation.
The statement was made by veteran Journalist Ha Dang, former Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan (People’s) Newspaper and Communist Review and former Head of Central Commission for Ideology and Culture, at a talks with reporters and editors of the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) prior to the 92nd Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day which falls on June 21st.

Dang shared his reminiscence of his journalism career and conveyed important messages that reporters should be dynamic and willing to have practical experiences to provide best press works for the readers, making contributions to building a better future. He emphasized that reporters will never have a quality work if they do not take on challenges and make sacrifices.
Quoting Uncle Ho’s teaching, Dang said that journalism staff should have passion and aspiration to have qualified press works, continuously promote self-training and studying as knowledge is unlimited, and thoroughly perceive the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws to have firm stance. He asked the PAN’s young reporters to be modest about their achievements and the senior reporters to have confidence in the ability of young ones as they are the future of the Vietnam revolutionary press.

At the meeting, the senior journalist also shared his experiences in writing compelling and interesting articles on Party building, penetrating into big issues of public concern, as well as praising exemplary people in various media platforms. He said that to have a high quality and interesting work, reporters must have specific methods to penetrate reality, form their own writing style, and enrich their knowledge.
For his part, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper thanked Journalist Ha Dang for his invaluable advice and sharing of experiences, and stressed that the PAN’s reporters, especially young ones, will flexibly and effectively apply these lessons to well carry out their tasks.
