This meaningful activity aimed to commemorate the World Environment Day in 2023 and respond to the government's call to plant 1 billion trees, contributing to raising public awareness of environmental protection, beautifying the landscape, and building a symbol of peaceful and friendly connection with countries around the world.
In her opening speech, Le Thi Thu Hang, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairwoman of the District People's Council, stated "Tay Ho district has chosen a creative cultural space adjacent to the West Lake as the venue for the 'Friendship Tree Planting' program in 2023, with the desire to introduce a creative cultural destination connected to the special natural scenery of the capital city. At the same time, this place is expected to become a destination for those who cherish peace, as the trees planted here, which come from international friends, convey messages of peace and friendship."
With the determination to build Tay Ho district into a center of tourism and culture in the capital city, Tay Ho district has actively promoted the beauty of Vietnamese culture, the country, and its people to international friends. The district authorities have actively promoted international cooperation in various fields, diversified traditional historical education, and especially motivated young generations to foster good relationships between Vietnam and countries around the world.

Sharing his thoughts with the press, Mr. Baloghdi Tibor, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam, commented, "Tay Ho district and District 16 of the capital city Budapest (Hungary) have established a twinning relationship. The leaders of the two districts regularly maintain contact, exchange experiences in management, development, and protection of the natural and social landscape of both sides."
Within the framework of the program, there were activities such as performances of outstanding art acts, an ethnic cultural experience area, and an exhibition and experience of traditional crafts and folklore of Tay Ho district, such as Phu Thuong sticky rice and Quang An lotus tea.
