Military units launch tree planting movements to mark Uncle Ho’s birthday anniversary
PANO - On May 19, in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province, the Naval Region 4 Command launched a tree-planting festival to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday anniversary (May 19, 1890 - 2023).
Over the past year, the unit has held many meaningful and practical programs in planting and taking care of trees so as to protect the environment and beautify the barracks.
Since 2019, the unit has planted more than 2,500 trees in the Southwestern island area, while taking care of trees in the areas.

On the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday anniversary, it organized a tree planting program in the whole unit.
Senior Colonel Ngo Minh Tung, Second-in-command of Coast Guard Region 4, noted that it was one of the practical activities in response to the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle. He also requested the unit to boost dissemination work so as to raise troops’ awareness and to spread the movement in the whole unit, contributing to the construction and management of regular, green, clean and beautiful barracks towards the celebration the 25th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Coast Guard (August 28, 1998 - 2023), and the Coast Guard Region 4 Command.

After the ceremony, the whole unit planted more than 350 trees.
* On the same day, a similar tree-planting program was held by the Binh Thuan provincial Military Command.

Reportedly, in recent years, the unit has planted nearly 50,000 trees and taken care of nearly 15 hectares of trees.
