Among the accidents, 256 happened on roads with 123 deaths and 193 injured victims.

There were no accidents on waterways, but there was one railway accident, claiming one life.

During the holiday, 60,370 violations of traffic rules were detected with total fine of 129.5 billion VND (5.2 million USD). More than 22,500 vehicles were temporarily seized and 10,900 driving licenses revoked.

According to Tran Huu Minh, Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee, during the holidays, congestion continued to occur at bus and train stations, airports, and gateways to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City due to a surge in traffic volume. However, the level of traffic congestion decreased compared to previous years because competent authorities performed well in patrolling and handling violations.
