Texting campaign to raise funds for the needy
PANO – The Vietnam Post, in association with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Football Federation launched a texting campaign entitled “The whole country joining hands for the needy” on November 1 in Hanoi.
The event saw the attendance of Head coach Park Hang-seo and members of the Vietnam national football squad and senior officials from participating agencies.

The campaign was introduced to around 42,000 staff and employees of the Vietnam Post nationwide. As estimated, the organizers will get a total donation of VND 800 million from postal workers across the country.
Chairman of the Vietnam Post’s Member Council Pham Anh Tuan said at the event that the campaign was not only launched at the group’s headquarters but also at 70 provincial and municipal post offices and affiliated companies. The group’s official held that all participants will send text messages to 1409 to donate to the campaign. This is also part of the emulation drive launched among the group’s staff and employees this year, he noted.
At the event, delegates, together with members of the Vietnam national football squad, sent messages to support the campaign. Notably, Vietnamese football players donated VND 100 million to the campaign.
