PANO – A mobile texting campaign to raise funds for local needy children with congenital heart diseases was announced in Hanoi on August 10th by the “Hearts for Children” Program.
Accordingly, each SMS with the word “TTCE” sent to 1408 will donate VND 16,000 to the campaign.
The proceeds will go towards providing free surgery for children under 16 with genetic heart defects across the country.
An official at the event held that the program aims to mobilize sponsors nationwide to actively join hands in curing the young patients.
In seven years, the program, co-organized by the military-run telecom group Viettel and Vietnam Television, has received VND 90 billion to give free heart surgeries to 2,700 disadvantaged children.
