Southern hub hosts big-ever book festival
PANO - The tenth Book Festival themed “Books - Culture - Integration and Development” was opened on March 19 at Le Van Tam Park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
Vice-State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong attended the opening ceremony.

The event is considered to be the biggest book festival ever with the participation of 900 booths from 200 publishing units at home and abroad as well as a display of over 300,000 book titles and 30 million copies.
Notably, nearly 40 publishing houses from foreign countries such as the US, the UK, France, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and so on, took part in the festival.
In addition, the event featured various activities at the central stage, the conference hall, and each participating unit’s booth. Visitors could also join dozens of exchanges, and book introductions with well-known authors such as Nguyen Nhat Anh, Anh Khang and Nguyen Dong Thuc.
As estimated, around 1 million visitors will join the week-long festival.
