SMS campaign launched to support the poor and AO/dioxin victims during Tet festival
PANO - The Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee, the National Humanitarian Portal 1400, and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) launched a text message campaign to support poor people and Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims.

The campaign, running from December 15, 2021 to February 12, 2022, aims to raise fund in support of needy people, AO/dioxin victims and pandemic-hit people in the upcoming lunar New Year (Tet) Festival 2022.
Supporters can take part in the campaign by texting “TET” to 1409 from now to February 12, 2022. Each successfully-sent message is equal to a donation of VND 20,000 to the fund.
Launched in 2012 with the theme “Lunar New Year for the poor and AO/dioxin victims,” the campaign has helped tens of millions of poor people and AO/dioxin victims have a warm and happy Tet holiday.
Apart from sending text messages, individuals and organizations can send donations to the bank account of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee’s 120 1 00000 36656 at the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) or its headquarters at No.82 Nguyen Du street, Hanoi or representative office at No.201 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
This year, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has set a goal to call on and present at least 1.8 million gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor and near-poor households, AO victims, policy beneficiaries, as well as families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters in 2021, so on.
