Quang Nam province cares for disadvantaged people
PANO - The Red Cross Society of Quang Nam province launched a campaign on January 8 in Tam Ky city calling on benefactors to help needy people and AO/Dioxin victims enjoy a cozy Tet (Lunar New Year festival).
At the launch of the campaign, the society received and acknowledged the support from organizations and businesses for disadvantaged people. Initially, more than VND 260 million (more than USD 11,000) has been donated to the program “Tet for needy people and AO/Dioxin victims.”

As reported, in 10 years (2009 - 2018), chapters of Quang Nam provincial Red Cross Society raised fund and prepared 686,921 Tet gifts, worth VND 204.3 billion (more than USD 8.8 million) in total, for 687 needy households and households of AO/Dioxin victims.
Besides presenting Tet gifts, the society also provided support in other sustainable forms, such as construction of houses, presentation of passbooks, provision of medical checkups and medicines, and more.
