Two severe cases, No.19 and No.161, are showing improvements, the national steering committee’s treatment subcommittee said, noting that the 161st patient has finished the treatment for COVID-19 and been transferred to the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital to receive more care to recover from the effects of stroke.

Also on May 5, 11 patients at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No.2 in Hanoi were declared to have recovered from the disease.

So far, 232 patients have been discharged from hospitals, and the rest are under treatment at central and provincial-level healthcare establishments.

Of the 39 remainders, 12 have tested negative for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, and nine others negative at least twice.

There are 25,625 people kept in quarantine at present, including 246 at hospitals, 6,165 at other quarantine facilities, and 19,214 at home.
