The event was jointly held by the Academy of Journalism and Communications (AJC), Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

After the opening ceremony, the delegates participated in two thematic discussions, focusing on Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s experience in policy communications amid digital transformation and initiatives and solutions to promote the work in the context of digital transformation and international integration.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh confirmed that digital transformation in the press is not only a matter of technology but also of the transformation of mindset, especially from leaders, and the cultural transformation in the newsroom.

The editor-in-chief laid stress on the importance of technology, saying that it is at the heart of a digital transformation strategy to create interesting contents that could conquer new readers and viewers. He also emphasized the role of the leaders. In particular, the leaders of press agencies need to have a mindset for digital transformation and spread it to all cadres and reporters.

Given digital transformation brings about both opportunities and challenges, AJC Director Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Minh Son stressed that the success of the digital transformation will open up more opportunities for press and media agencies to innovate their operation methods, and improve the efficiency of information work and service for the public.

It can be seen that the rapid development of science and technology has been a foundation for digital transformation. In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has driven the digital transformation process, requiring individuals and organizations to enhance the application of technology to create innovation and more values for society.

During the event, participants discussed and answered important questions related to many issues, such as technologies and subjects that policy communications paying attention to in the context of digital transformation and international integration, international experience that Vietnam can refer to in promoting digital transformation, and solutions for policy communications agencies to substantively promote digital transformation.
