According to the Ministry of Public Security’s statistics, there are over 210,000 drug addicts in the country. The number of new addicts has increased from 10% to 15%, thus causing bad effects to the society.
Addressing the event, themed “Aspiration of Integrating into the Community”, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Trong Dam said over the past time, the Party, State, and government issued many policies and laws on drug prevention to reduce the number of new drug addicts and to assist their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
He added that as the reality of drug usage has been increasingly complicated, the information dissemination on drug prevention plays an important role. In addition, people, especially students should understand the harm of drug and actively denounce drug dealers to contribute to the anti-drug fight.
