In particular, the voluntary summer of Ho Chi Minh City’s youths will take place from June 11 to August 6 with different programs and campaigns, namely green summer, green operation, pink vacation, red flamboyant, entrance exam support activity, and green tutors. These activities will be carried out in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in Southeastern, Southwestern, South-central, and Central Highlands regions.

In addition, the city’s youths will organize voluntary activities in Thanh An island commune of Can Gio district of Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quy island district of Binh Thuan province, and localities of Laos.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Youth Union Organization Phan Thi Thanh Phuong said that the city’s youths will closely work with local authorities and youth organizations to create sustainable volunteer programs. Through activities, young people will have an opportunity to bring into play their expertise and help local people and authorities deal with difficulties.

Right after the ceremony, youth organizations in the Southern hub kicked off their activities. Outstanding activities include a class to equip children with self-defense skills, “green space” project, “Books – Bridge of love” program, and programs to assist those in difficult circumstances, among others.

In Nha Be district, the Youth Union Organization of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation cooperated with local youths to kick off the 22nd “Pink vacation” campaign, during which participants planted and presented trees to schools and took care of local policy beneficiaries and needy students.

Notably, the Youth Union Organization of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation handed over a solar power system, worth VND 45 million, to Tran Thi Ngoc Han Primary School in Nha Be district.
