French historian praises President Ho Chi Minh’s character
French historian Alain Ruscio, who has conducted many research studies on Indochina and Vietnam, has praised the character of late President Ho Chi Minh, which he said attracts the attention and respect of the French people.
President Ho was a sincere and humble man who did not care about fame, he said, stressing the simple lifestyle he preferred even after becoming head of state.
He lived and worked in a small dwelling in the corner of the Presidential Palace rather than a big house, the historian explained.
President Ho, he went on, has been mentioned in all of his books as his career and message were of interest to all colonized peoples.
A former journalist with the L’Humanité (Humanity) newspaper, where President Ho worked as a correspondent, Ruscio said he has published three works dedicated to President Ho, in 1990, 1999, and 2019.
In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s 130th birthday, the historian expressed his great respect and admiration for the Vietnamese leader and his legacy.
