Foreign sailor saved at sea
PANO – Ship SAR 412 of the Vietnam Marine Search and Rescue Coordination Center took a foreign sailor to a hospital in Da Nang city for medical treatment on March 22.

Previously, at 5:00 pm on March 21, Filippino crewmember Michael Samorin of Greek trawler Maran Taurus suffered a great pain in his lower waist while his ship travelling across Southern Triton Island of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago of Vietnam. The captain called the Vietnam relevant agency for an urgent medical assistance.
After receiving the information, the Vietnam Marine Search and Rescue Coordination Center required the trawler to head to Da Nang City and sent Ship SAR 412 to join the rescue mission.
By 0:45 am on March 22, the rescue team reached and gave the victim first aid before taking him ashore for further medical care.
