Needy households receiving gifts at the event

Under the project, from now to late December, more than 400 needy households in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will receive food and hygiene gears, and instructions on how to fight the pandemic.

The project funding of USD 78,500 is provided by United Way Worldwide (UWW), 3M Company, and Community Chest of Korea (CCK).

MSD Director Nguyen Phuong Linh said that through the project, the institute and its partners want to ease the burden for those badly affected by the pandemic, expressing her hope that the model will be rolled out on a larger scale so that no one is left behind.

The COVID-19 pademic is complicatedly developing worldwide. In Vietnam, the second wave of the pandemic has strongly affected people’s life, especially needy workers, the unemployed, children, and those with disabilities. Although the Government has decided to support these people, some of them have yet to have access to the packages.

On this occasion, the organizers presented gifts, including food, medical supplies, and hygiene gears to 15 households in Hanoi. These gifts will be handed to more than 400 families in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City once a month from now to October.
