Earlier, at 17:50 the same day, Ship KN468, captained by Tran Van Hien, was tasked to rescue the fishermen on a coracle since their trawler PY 94477 TS had sunk.
Approaching the coracle, the ship’s crew took the fishermen aboard the ship, gave them first aid while strictly observing COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
According to trawler owner Le Duc Huan, on the way to catch ocean tuna, the trawler was flooded and sank into the sea due to strong winds.
All four fishermen, who are natives of Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province, are now in stable health conditions.
