Distressed fishermen saved at sea
PANO – On the evening of January 12, Ship KN 360 (Fisheries Surveillance Team No.3) assisted members of trawler DNa 90052 TS in monitoring the health condition of an injured fisherman and searching for another missing at sea.
Earlier, at 19:00 on January 11, the trawler, captained by Truong Van Phuong, born in 1983 in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city, sent a mayday for help of his crew member Nguyen Van Hung, born in 1961 in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province, who went missing after falling into the sea, and another member Vo Ngoc Lau, born in 1954 in Tam Ky city, who had a serious injury on his hand while fishing at sea.
Shortly after receiving the mayday signal, Ship KN 360 moved to the scene for a rescue mission.
However, due to high waves and strong winds, the rescue ship could not approach the troubled ship.
Ship KN 360 then delivered medicines, cotton balls, and bandages for crew-members on board by lifeboat.
The rescue ship also asked its medical staff to instruct the injured fisherman on how to look after his wound and how to use the medicines.
