The distressed sailors were taken to shore |
Previously, at 3:45 pm on December 29, the center received the information that trawler White Shark (from Marshall Islands) had four crewmembers injured when operating about 154 nautical miles off Southeast of Nha Trang City. The distressed sailors, namely Ritche Magbanua (1973), Joseph Villacastin (1970), Rodolfo Castro (1977) and Clyde Josef Boilosa (1995), come from the Philippines.
The trawler’s captain then immediately communicated with the center and asked for medical assistance.
The center sent Ship SAR 27-01 for the rescue and after reaching the trawler, its medical personnel provided first aid for the distressed sailors before taking them to shore.
