Distressed fisherman saved at sea
PANO – A distressed Filipino sailor was brought to shore by a ship from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center on February 9 for further treatment.
Earlier, the center’s rescue team received a mayday signal from the ship YM ADVANCE with a crew-member on board who was experiencing dyspnea.
The ship, sailing from India to Hong Kong, was about 147 nautical miles Southeast of Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.

After getting the information, the center immediately sent ship SAR27-01 to the scene to save the distressed fisherman.
In spite of harsh weather conditions, the ship successfully took the distressed Filipino sailor ashore.
* Ship SAR 412 under the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center on February 9 saved a troubled trawler with 40 fishermen on board and took it ashore.
Earlier, trawler QNa 90037 TS, captained by Phan Ba Linh, went adrift due to engine failure.
After receiving the information, the center sent Ship SAR 412 for the rescue mission.
At 9:30a.m. on February 9, the ship approached the troubled fishing boat, gave first aid to fishermen, and towed the boat and all crew-members ashore.
