Contest promoting historical knowledge for primary students
PANO – A contest themed “Learning more about the historical site Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature - the Imperial Academy) and the history of Thang Long – Hanoi”, held on Oct. 18, was co-hosted by the Science-Culture Center of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, in association with the Training and Education Department of Ha Dong district.

Students of the three primary schools of Van Yen, Kien Hung and Tran Dang Ninh in Ha Dong district took part in the contest focusing on three categories, including the learning of Temple of Literature, the learning of Thang Long – Hanoi’s history and the heritage journey.
The contest aims to provide students with basic knowledge about the Temple of Literature, a national historical site, as well as the history of the Thang Long Imperial City Exams as Hanoi was formerly known, focusing on the Ha Dong district in particular. Hence, it is to instill patriotism in the young students, to educate them on national history and to encourage them to strive for high academic standards.
In addition, the program is a practical activity in corresponding with the "Lifelong Learning Week" encouraging the youth to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s example, in celebration of the Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20) and the Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
