Conference to implement external information management
PANO – The Ministry of Information and Communications opened a conference on the implementation of circular on the external information management in central cities and provinces; and on sea and islands dissemination on December 7 in Hanoi.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao speaking at the conference
The conference was presided over by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao, with the participation of 150 delegates from the Central Steering Committee for External Information; leaders of the Central Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, and the People’s Committees of the cities and provinces.
Delivering a speech at the conference, Deputy Minister Bao said that external information is an important part of the communication and ideological activities of the Party and the State. Over the past time, the external information work has received supports and due attention from local authorities. As a result, the rich-content information is released at the soonest time to enable international community as well as overseas Vietnamese to understand current situation of Vietnam.
However, there remain certain shortcomings and limits in external information management in provinces and cities. For this reason the issuance of circular is necessary in settling remaining problems, assisting localities in carrying out effectively the external communication activities; and combating distorted information. It is also the basis for the provinces and cities to actively develop mechanisms and policies for smooth cooperation with news agencies, the press, and foreign journalists working in the localities.
