As of mid-June, Binh Duong had supported the construction of 137 new houses and the repair of 266 others, with a total cost of 26.26 billion VND, primarily sourced from different economic sectors. Of these, 34 houses (worth 2.57 billion VND) were for people with meritorious service, while 369 houses (worth 23.69 billion VND) benefited poor, near-poor, and especially disadvantaged households.

According to Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh, the level of support provided by Binh Duong was nearly double the central standard, 100 million VND per newly built house and 50 million VND per repaired house, ensuring housing quality and helping people achieve stable living conditions and sustainable poverty reduction. Civil servants and public employees contributed 4,712 labor days to help reduce costs and accelerate construction.

Alongside efforts to care for residents in the province, Binh Duong has also allocated 90 billion VND to support Nghe An and Bac Lieu provinces in implementing their makeshift housing elimination programs. This funding comes from a 5% saving in the province’s 2024 regular budget expenditures and additional social contributions.

As of June 17, the province had mobilized over 52 billion VND in total. Of this, 24.6 billion VND was received by the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, 10 billion VND by the provincial Red Cross Society, and 17.5 billion VND raised independently by districts, towns, and cities from the business community and philanthropists.

The full and early completion of this program is a testament to the province’s strong political will and effective mobilization of the entire society in caring for the people, contributing significantly to sustainable poverty alleviation and the province’s broader development goals.
