The Ba Na cable car system in Danang is the world’s longest single-string cable car (5,042.62m) with the largest difference in height (1,291.81m) between the upper and lower stations, two records recently recognized by the World Association of Cable Cars.

The Ba Na Cable Car Service Joint-Stock Co. put the system into operation on December 31st, 2008 as scheduled, after one year of construction. The cable car system links the foot of Ba Na Mountain with the peak of Vong Nguyet Mountain in the Ba Na-Suoi Mo Tourism Area.

The cable car system, which includes 22 pillars and 94 cabs, is able to transport 1,500 passengers an hour.

Reportedly, an entertainment centre will also built at the foot of the mountain in the near future, while a a luxury hotel, restaurants and several luxury villas will be constructed on the top of the mountain.
