PANO – The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) held a press conference on November 9 to release information about the “Vietnam Information Security Day 2016”.

This year’s event will be held by the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA), Department of Information Security, Vietnam Computing Emergency Rescue Team (VNCERT) under the MoIC; and Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Defense.

At the press conference on November 9, VNISA will make a report on information security in Vietnam over the past year and information security index in 2016.

The “Information Security Day 2016” is held amid increasing cyber-attacks worldwide, and on Vietnam.

Under the theme “New Era of Cyber Security”, the event will include a number of activities, including three seminars and shows to introduce advanced security technologies; the national competition "Students and Information Security", and a short-term training course on safe programming on mobile phones, to name but a few.

The annual Vietnam Information Security Day will be marked in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on November 17 and December 2, respectively.
