Accordingly, more than 147,000 Youth Union members took part in five voluntary campaigns, namely Green Summer, Green Operation, Red Holiday, Red Flamboyant, and provided assistance in the national high school graduation exams in the city, the Central and Central Highlands provinces, the Southeast and Southwest regions, and Tho Chu island commune (Phu Quoc island district, Kien Giang province) and some neighboring provinces of Laos. These activities contributed to improving lives of local people and consolidating friendship between Vietnam and its neighboring countries.
At the ceremony, the committee praised the achievements in voluntary activities in line with the building of urban civilization and new-style rural areas as well as promoting social welfare and the “Uong nuoc nho nguon” (When drinking water, remember its source) tradition.
The same day, the union launched a movement, titled “For beloved youngsters”, and a walk to raise funds for disadvantaged students.
