After the national reunification, the city’s Youth Union on March 28th 1976 established youth volunteer teams to develop the economy in urban areas as well as to join the Southwest border war.
At present, the force’s members are assigned to manage and support drug addicts to reintegrate into society, participate in construction of public facilities, help locals overcome natural disaster's consequences, and maintain social order and traffic safety.
Over the past time, they have made considerable contributions to the city’s socio-economic development.
