The State President, Truong Tan Sang, on October 21st presented the title “Hero of People’s Armed Forces” to seven collectives and six individuals that were once sailors on “no number ship” at the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Marine Path for their contributions to the revolution cause of Party and the nation.
Seven collectives include ship 55, 54, 43, 121, 56, 235 and 69. Six sailors are Ho Dac Thanh of Phu Yen Province, Do Van San of Thanh Hoa Province, martyr Dinh Dat of Quang Ngai Province, martyr Le Van Mot of Tien Giang, martyr Duong Van Loc of Quang Nam Province and martyr Huynh Van Sao in Tra Vinh Province.
The State President also highly appreciated the contributions of staff and soldiers on “no number ship” and the assistance of neighboring countries to create the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea.
Together with the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea symbolises the patriotic traditions, the will and the thirst for freedom of the Vietnamese people, said President Truong Tan Sang.
Also on the day, representatives paid tribute to martyrs on no number ship at Wharf K15 in Do Son, Hai Phong.
