A meeting to uphold the role of overseas women in the country’s development is on the verge of taking place, with an expected attendance of over 200 people.

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the information on November 15 in Hanoi.

The programme, which will take place in Vietnam, will create room for Vietnamese women at home and abroad to forge business and development relationships, boosting the growth of Vietnam and their own national identity, according to Dang The Hung, the committee’s Deputy Head.

It will also be an occasion to applaud outstanding OV women who have worked hard to benefit the country, he added.

The meeting, the first of its kind, will be held from November 19-23.
