PANO - The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee held a meeting on February 24th to guide the procedures for the nomination of candidates from central agencies to the National Assembly (NA).

According to Resolution 1140/2016/UBTVQH13, central agencies are allocated with 198 seats in the NA (39.6%), including 11 deputies from Party agencies, 3 from State President’s agencies, 114 from bodies under the NA, 18 from agencies of the Government, 15 from the Ministry of National Defence, 3 from the Ministry of Public Security, 1 from the Supreme People's Court, 1 from the People's Supreme Procuracy, 1 from the State Audit Office of Vietnam and 31 nominated by the VFF.
The nomination of the candidates from central agencies will take place from February 24th to March 10th 2016.
Agencies are to guide their nominees to submit profiles in accordance with the Law on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils and instruction of the National Electoral Council of the NA. The deadline for the submission is March 13th 2016 so that the candidates can be included in the list for the political consultation on March 15th 2016.
