PANO – The 73rd anniversary of the Nam Ky Uprising against the French domination in southern Vietnam was celebrated in Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City, on November 23.

At the event, participants recalled the Nam Ky Uprising and the glorious pages in the Vietnam's revolutionary history in struggling for the national independence.

Though the uprising was suppressed by the French colonialists, it demonstrated the patriotism and heroism of the communist fighters and people in the southern region of Vietnam.

On this occasion, two individuals were conferred the third-class Labor Order and 4 others were given merit certificates by the Prime Minister.

Besides, the City’s Party Committee granted insignias to 22 Party members who have been members of the Vietnamese Communist Party for 30, 40, 50 and 65 years.

Previously, they offered incense to commemorate the martyrs killed during the uprising at the Giong Crossroads Monument in Hoc Mon district.
