PANO – Huu Nghi (Friendship) Hospital held a ceremony on December 27th to receive the title Labour Hero.
After 60 years, Huu Nghi Hospital has developed from a small clinic into a modern medical institution and its staff have always successfully fulfilled their assigned tasks, making it a national standard hospital. Over the past 10 years, Huu Nghi Hospital has provided treatment for nearly 1,000 high-ranking incumbents and former cadres.
At the ceremony, the title Labour Hero was presented to Huu Nghi Hospital and certificates of merit of the Prime Minister were presented to the Department of Cardiology and Department of Cardiovascular Intervention.
* Later in the afternoon, another ceremony was held at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion was formed on December 31st, 1984. From 1984 to 2003, the institute was under the management of Bach Mai Hospital. On March 8th, 2004, the Prime Minister signed a decision to place the institute directly under the management of the Ministry of Health.
Since then, the institute has been developing into a leading hematology and blood transfusion facility nationwide. In 2014 alone, the institute provided treatment for 80,314 patients including 22,472 were in-patients. Apart from professional practices, the institute has also successfully waged many voluntary blood donation movements nationwide.
For its outstanding contributions, the institute was presented with the honourable title “Labour Hero”.
