Late President Ton Duc Thang’s death anniversary commemorated
PANO – The An Giang provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, on March 16, held a ceremony in commemoration of late State President Ton Duc Thang in Long Xuyen city in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, where he was born, on his 42nd death anniversary.
During the event, at the memorial site dedicated to the late president in My Hoa Hung commune, Secretary of the An Giang provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang and other provincial leaders, together with local people, and late President Ton Duc Thang’s relatives offered incense and observed a minute’s silence to show respect for Vietnam’s great revolutionary leader who devoted his life to the cause of national liberation.

Nearly 70 years dedicated to the cause of national liberation and reunification, the late president held many important positions and was the first person to be honored with the Sao Vang (Golden Star) Order from the Party and Government.
This was an occasion for the An Giang provincial Party Committee, authorities and people to implement the national tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source,” so as to continue promoting its traditions, contributing to building the province in the coming time.
