The seminar was in celebration of the 130th birth anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang.

Present at the meeting were State President Tran Dai Quang, Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang and other representatives from ministries, central agencies, as well as scholars, scientists, President Ton Duc Thang’s family and An Giang province’s leadership.

Speeches delivered at the event highlighted great contributions of the President to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam in different fields. Accordingly, he founded and directed the first labor union of Vietnam, actively contributed to the struggle of Vietnam’s working class and to the building of a national great unity bloc and international solidarity.

Delegates also emphasized that President Ton Duc Thang was a bright example of revolutionary ethics, and that his noble personality was highly valuable to the current Party building work and education for younger generations.

In his concluding speech, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang stressed that the papers presented at the seminar clarified and recognized President Thang’s activities and contributions as a founder of the first Vietnamese labor union, a vanguard revolutionary and a leader of the working class of Vietnam.

According to Thang, President Thang, an exemplary communist, devoted his whole life to the national salvation cause for the Vietnamese people’s freedom and happiness. He also excellently realized the Party’s and President Ho Chi Minh’s great unity policy and became a bright example of revolutionary ethics.

With the aim of giving a deeper insight into the President’s revolutionary career and contributions, the successful seminar helped further educate the revolutionary ideal and tradition for younger generations, contributing to the successful realization of the resolutions of the 12th Party Congress, the forth meeting of the Party Central Committee (term XII) and the Politburo’s Directive No.5 (term XII).
