At the conference, the union’s vice standing chairwoman Vu Thi Hai highlighted the union’s 2014 achievements with a focus on peace and friendship activities, such as a contest themed “Hanoi-a city for peace” with nearly 1.3 million entries, exhibitions and seminars on “Hanoi-the city for peace, 15 years of integration and development”, and Vietnamese language courses for foreign diplomats in Vietnam.
The conference highly valued the success in the dissemination of national seas and islands and the mobilization of nearly VND 900 million for the “Beloved Truong Sa (Spratly) Fund”.
Above activities have fostered the union’s people’s external affairs, and contributed to tightening the relations between Vietnamese people, particularly those of the capital city, and international friends.
