The sessions focused on public concern, including agricultural restructuring, management of cultural and tourism activities and maintenance of social ethics, health check-ups, medicine prices and grassroots healthcare and use of resources for development.

Commenting on the event, NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc said the topics of discussion were practical and reflected the concerns of the public. 

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung received 19 questions, the most of any official, which touched upon slow disbursement, sporadic investment and shortcomings in the enforcement of the Law on Public Investment. 

Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vu Duc Dam and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien eased concerns over planning for the Son Tra national tourist area in the central city of Da Nang, receiving high praise from lawmakers. 

The government will decide on this issue in the spirit of sustainable development, Dam affirmed. 

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh responded to questions about delayed and inefficient projects, delayed litigation, traffic jams and the marine environment, among others. 

In conclusion, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the Q&A sessions took place in a democratic, straightforward and constructive atmosphere. NA deputies showed their sense of responsibility in questioning and arguing with the officials. 

The Government members replied to all queries, clarified many issues, straightforwardly accepted responsibility, suggested solutions and vowed to improve, she added.
