Ambassador Pham Hung Tam (R) hands over 12,700 AUD (8,700 USD) to the delegation to help victims of Typhoon Yagi.

Receiving a working delegation of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization led by Deputy Head Pham Tat Thang on September 25, Tam handed over 12,700 AUD (8,700 USD) to the delegation to help victims of Typhoon Yagi which hit Vietnam on September 7.

Thang expressed his impression at the contributions by the Vietnamese community, intellectuals, and students in Australia.

Showing his delight at new developments in the Vietnam - Australia relations, the official acknowledged efforts and contributions by the embassy to strengthening and consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

On the same day, Thang met with Kim Sampson, President of the Australia - Vietnam Friendship Society, at the embassy. Both sides discussed measures to enhance the effectiveness of the association's activities and strengthen cooperation to continue nurturing the friendship between the two peoples.

While there, the delegation also met and had working sessions with representatives from the Australian Department of Social Services and the Australian Public Service Commission in Canberra.
