In an interview granted to Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondents in Japan, Anh said that these efforts affirm the Party and State’s steadfast policy of regarding the OV community as an inseparable part of the nation, both beneficiaries of State care and active participants in national development.

According to Anh, being listened to and invited to give opinions not only carries political and social significance but also strengthens emotional bonds between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland, reinforcing each individual’s sense of responsibility towards the country’s future.
From the practical activities of the Vietnamese Association in Fukuoka, he noted that OVs in the locality closely follow domestic developments and actively participate in policy consultations. Many engage in exchanges and discussions within the community, with a strong desire to contribute constructively and responsibly to national development, increasingly through concrete actions rather than opinions alone.
He said OVs are ready to share professional expertise in education, science and technology, and business governance, and facilitate investment connections and trade promotion. They also help preserve Vietnamese culture and language, promote the country’s image abroad, and support social welfare activities at home.
Contributions are increasingly focused on priority areas such as science and technology, innovation and international integration, in line with Resolution No.57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation.
In the field of science and technology, many overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, experts, and researchers hope to join advisory networks, promote knowledge transfer and share international experience with domestic agencies, enterprises and educational institutions. They are willing to contribute through mentoring programs, short-term teaching, research cooperation and support for technology start-ups, particularly in high technology, digital transformation, education and health care, he said.
Alongside this, OV also aspire to play a bridging role in people-to-people diplomacy, connecting Vietnamese localities, businesses and organizations with foreign partners. Many expect more favorable mechanisms to participate in trade and investment promotion, as well as educational and cultural cooperation.
Anh emphasized that to ensure effective contributions, transparent mechanisms for receiving, synthesizing and responding to feedback are needed, alongside greater engagement from OV, whose expertise and international experience can serve as an important driving force for Vietnam’s sustainable development in the new period.
